Heavy Equipment Mechanic To perform skilled and semi-skilled work involved in the mechanical servicing, maintenance and repair of the vehicles and equipment, heavy construction equipment and other equipment; to maintain simple records related to shop operations; and to perform related duties and responsibilities as required. Accountabilities: Safety regulations and precautions pertaining to the servicing and repair of heavy equipment and fire/emergency response equipment. Diagnoses and repairs computer controlled systems, electrical systems, brakes, steering, suspensions, transfer cases, transmission, hydraulic systems, heavy equipment. Maintains accurate and complete work records. Overhaul diesel-powered engines. Safe and proper use of assigned equipment and tools.
